I walked into Borders in Boston at Downtown Crossing last week to pick up a book for work, and I found out that Cal Ripken, Jr. would be doing a signing there today for his new book, Get In The Game. So, I had to go as Cal is my favorite baseball player, and I never had the opportunity to meet him before. I didn’t know what to say to Cal, so I simply said, “I’m a huge fan — thank you,” to which he replied, “You’re welcome.” That’s good enough for me!
The people running the book signing were smart in having Cal switch between book signing and taking photos with people. Instead of me hunched over to get in a photo with Cal at the signing table, I got a good one with him standing up.
Thanks, Cal!
Today was the second day of March Madness.
Day 1 = 13 out of 16. Not bad. I can live with it.
Day 2 = 8 out of 16. Awful. Here are the games I have missed so far:
I’ve got some ground to make up in my pool, if I’m serious about winning any sort of money this year. The good thing is that it’s still early, so I don’t need to panic…yet.
Day 1 of the Road To The Final Four has ended, and I managed to pick 13 of the 16 games correctly. The 3 games I missed were:
I need to stop not picking UNLV in the first round. I always seem to think they completely lack the talent they had back in the Larry Johnson days, but clearly I’m wrong. They have enough juice to get into the second round. I don’t think it matters much though, as Kansas should dominate them in the second round.
By the way, Belmont literally threw that game away…it would’ve been nice to see Duke take an early exit, ja?
Anyway, we’ll see how things are looking after tomorrow.
